Built using local materials. The Naturhotel Waldklause was constructed using a glue-free solid timber construction method and insulated with Tyrolean sheep’s wool – making it one of the first hotels of its kind in Austria.
The construction meets the standards for low-energy buildings in the tourism sector. The hotel was built predominantly using local raw materials, processed by regional craft businesses.
The Naturhotel Waldklause uses certified electricity generated from renewable, carbon-neutral energy sources. Heating is supplied by the biomass power station in Längenfeld.
The Naturhotel Waldklause has been awarded both the Austrian Ecolabel and the European Ecolabel.
Don’t clean, go green.
By choosing not to have your room cleaned during your stay, you are actively helping to protect the environment. To mark this, we are planting young small-leaved lime trees, larch trees and maple trees. Please hang the relevant sign in a clearly visible spot on the outside of your room door.
